LONGER TIME UNBOUND

LONGER TIME was conceived in 2018 as a photographic project composed of multiple images within a single frame. In this work, I explore the disintegration of time by breaking the space-time continuum and offering a simultaneous vision of several photographs. Unlike cinema, where frames pass imperceptibly one after another, photography allows for the juxtaposition of moments, enabling a simultaneous view of a given event.

The subjects in each image resemble one another, only to transform immediately after. Alternatively, the sequence may unfold in a manner that contrasts—or even reverses—the chronology of the individual shots, for sometimes a visual narrative is more effective when it transcends reality. I strive to capture what can be revealed to the observer, searching for the longest moments, the ones that can repeat through proximity and contiguity. It is a matter of time—the time that elongates.

In the last two years, I have had the opportunity to experiment with AI in both photography and video. I have come to realize that we are not facing just another method of photographing, but rather a new expressive tool that stands apart from all other forms of expression, primarily because it interacts with the "artist." The final result is not solely dictated by the technical and intellectual prowess of its user; AI, in turn, offers its interpretation of the idea we present.

In my project LONGER TIME UNBOUND, I sought to break photography free from its static confines. Not only did I want to release each subject from its original frame, but also to allow the figures within a single image to cross boundaries and intermingle with adjacent ones. This merging creates fresh, 'visual' narratives, sometimes shifting perspectives so radically as to completely upend the viewer's original vision.
